Abstract
Keyword: Standards
In my humble opinion this has been the most interesting keyword yet. The reason I find it so interesting is because it not only relates to web issues. Standards are all around us.
Possible questions:
- Who decides standards? Why must we follow them? How important are they? How do they effect how people write?
-Does standardization hinder creativity? Are people censoring themselves because of standards? Is that a good thing/bad thing?
-What is the difference between standards, rules, laws and norms? How can all be applied to the web? To life?

Keep going from this and from the group work. What other keywords do you connect to? Do you have an argument about standards? An ax to grind? How do you want to answer the questions you ask?
What connections do you see to wider culture? Why are those interesting to you?

Should all standards be followed?

KJH-That's another good question for me to think about.
CBD- Another keyword standards can be connected to is style. There are standards of style and how things should be written on the web. Style also connects to they way written work looks. I think these words go hand and hand.
I don't have too much of an argument about standards. I want to do more research about standards vs. creativity. I guess for now I would say that standards should be followed in certain circumstances and on certain websites and software, but not all.
I want to answer my questions through research and critical thinking.
There are a lot of connections that I can make. Just like life, there are standards for the Web. There are standards of how people should dress and behave, and there are standards of how websites should look and be used.

If you are focused on creativity and standards, you might look at the definitions of standard and quidelines for writing, implementing, and enforcing standards: is it possible to build them in a way which doesn't hinder creativity?
Then there's the old argument that limitations can increase creativity by forcing us to think things in different ways...
I agree there are many ways to connect standard to other concepts we've discussed. You don't have to exhaust this, of course, but you should examine the relevant connections (style is definitely one) carefully.
